Does everyone qualify?
No. A physician must determine that you have a qualifying medical condition requiring limited exposure to light. Payment is for the evaluation and application support. Neither payment nor participation guarantees approval.
Will this stop me from getting tint tickets?
There is no promise of avoiding a traffic stop or citation. Paying, attending a consultation, or holding a physician-signed form is not the same as having an exemption issued by FLHSMV. An application does not erase existing tickets.
What do I need to apply?
Your name, contact details, date of birth, Florida license or ID number, mailing and residential addresses, vehicle title number, VIN, year, make, and a copy of your current Florida license or ID. The medical applicant can be different from the vehicle’s registered owner.
What happens after the physician approves me?
The physician completes the medical certification. You review the completed application and sign your own applicant declaration. The signed application, ID copy, and state fee are then submitted to FLHSMV, which issues the certificate. The precise submission service will be finalized before launch.
Does the exemption expire?
The state form says a medical exemption certificate has no expiration date. It is tied to the listed vehicle, is nontransferable, and becomes invalid when that vehicle is sold or transferred.
How does the refund work?
If the physician finds you ineligible or the state denies your completed application, the proposed refund is $249 less the $9.75 processing fee. The $6.50 state allowance is also deducted only if already remitted to the state. This means $239.25 before submission or $232.75 after. These proposed terms and the current state fee must be finalized before launch.
Can I add another vehicle?
This package covers one vehicle. The state form has space for up to three vehicles under the same registrant. Additional-vehicle pricing is not part of this preview and will be set before that option becomes available.
